Our Trip to Bahati, Kenya
Hi friends,
Years ago, God spoke clearly to us that we would someday share the gospel in Africa. At the time, we didn’t know when, where, or how — only that we were to be faithful and ready. After years of prayer and waiting, that opportunity has now come.
Mark and I are heading to Bahati, Kenya, a densely populated area facing real challenges — crime, immorality, poverty, and brokenness. But we also know God deeply loves the people of Bahati, and we believe He is already drawing hearts to Himself.
We will be traveling and sharing the gospel with many others, while serving more than 200 local churches from different denominations. Together, we are united with one purpose — to see lives changed by the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Each morning, we’ll be sharing the gospel in schools, prisons, and other areas, meeting people where they are and pointing them to the hope found in Jesus.
Mark will be ministering in men’s prisons, sharing with kids of all ages, serving on prayer teams, and helping wherever he’s needed.
I’ll be serving in women’s prisons and schools, teaching and equipping leaders at a pastors’ retreat, serving on prayer teams, and speaking at the evening revival gatherings alongside the other evangelists.
Each evening, teams will go out to 13 neighboring villages, where we will offer revival meetings each night, with 1,000–3,000 people anticipated to attend.
During the last four evenings, these efforts will culminate in a large revival gathering called Awake Bahati, where we are anticipating up to 30,000 people to attend. We are believing for lives to be changed, hearts to be restored, and communities to be impacted as the gospel is shared.
This trip is the fulfillment of a calling God placed on our hearts years ago — and now we get to walk it out in faith.
Partner With Us
We can’t do this alone — and we truly believe partnership is part of how God works.
As we prepare for this trip, Romans 12:6–8 continues to shape how we see partnership. These verses remind us that God gives different gifts by His grace — and that each gift has a place.
Some are called to go.
Some are called to pray.
And some are called to give so that the gospel can be shared.
Romans 12:6-8 (NIV):
We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us.
If your gift is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach;
if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously;
if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully.
If you feel led to partner with us in prayer, financial support, or both, we would be honored to walk this journey with you.
When we return, we are committed to sharing our experience with our partners — the stories, testimonies, and fruit of what God did and what you helped make possible.
Thank you for reading and for considering being part of this journey with us.
Sincerely,
Tonya Marvin
